What is the Megaformer?
A state-of-the-art machine designed for the Lagree Method - a unique type of workout that blends the benefits of weightlifting (strength, bone density, cardio, and mobility) with the best parts of Pilates (low impact, increases balance, and builds core strength).
The Megaformer is unique, it utilizes spring tension for resistance.
It has two stable platforms on each end and a moving carriage you can spring load in the center. There are multiple light springs, as well as multiple heavy springs, and their resistance profile changes based on how far out you push or pull the carriage, and whether you’re working off the front platform or the back platform. It also has cables and handlebars. It’s like a whole gym’s worth of equipment had a baby with a Pilates Reformer.
Need to change the intensity of an exercise? No need to go grab another set of dumbbells, all you have to do is change the springs. It’s quick and easy, yet super effective and efficient. This means you can get a workout that would take you 2 hours in the gym in just 50 minutes on the Mega.
The resistance is smooth and reliable. You can use the springs to support you, you can pull against them, or you can push against them.
