Lagree vs Pilates

What’s the difference?

Pilates is great, don’t get us wrong, but it’s not the same as Lagree. Both are preformed on machines that utilize spring tension. Pilates uses the Reformer, and Lagree uses the Megaformer, so the names of the equipment sound similar. Both are named after their creators. This is where the similarities stop, however.

Lagree is a form of strength and endurance training.

Pilates was created as a form of injury rehabilitation.

Lagree is done at a higher intensity than Pilates. You’re going to get a deeper muscular burn, more endurance benefits, and a bigger increase in your heart rate. The Megaformer has a back platform, unlike the Pilates Reformer, so you can pull against the spring tension. It also has the option for heavier springs, so you get more benefit in muscular strength and bone density.
